Calling all Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion Saturday, March 22, 9 am-Noon After a long break, Mary, Mother of God Parish is preparing to once again offer the opportunity to receive Christ's Precious Blood as a fuller sign of our Communion. Eucharistic Ministers will gather on March 22 to reflect on our reverence for Christ's real presence in the chalice, pray for the graces we need for this ministry of service, and refresh our understanding of the requirements, roles, and responsibilities we share.
Please check your email or follow the link to complete the online registration form, verifying and/or updating your contact information. Other parishioners feeling called to this ministry are also welcome to attend and should complete the registration form. Beginning on March 7, Bilingual Stations of the Cross will be hosted on most Fridays of Lent (see poster for exact dates) at St. Ita church (5500 N. Broadway). The Stations of the Cross, also known as the Way of the Cross, commemorate Jesus's passion and death on the cross. There are 14 stations that each depict a moment on his journey to Calvary. At each station, prayers and reflections are offered as the congregation meditates on Christs suffering and his great love for us. This is an appropriate way to prepare ourselves for the coming of Holy Week which concludes with Easter Sunday on April 20. *Please check the dates carefully, not every Friday in Lent will have Stations of the Cross./*Por favor revise bien las fechas, no todos los viernes de Cuaresma tendremos el Vía Crucis.
