Dear Friends, the Franciscan Conventual Friars are excited to invite you on a 10-day Eucharistic Miracles Pilgrimage to Italy. This trip is in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the XXVIII International Eucharistic Congress in Chicago, IL, which initiated the building of our Perpetual Adoration Chapel at Marytown, The National Shrine to St. Maximilian Kolbe in Libertyville, IL.

A Pastoral Conversation Series on Aging, Hope, & Community*Sponsored by St. Vincent de Paul Society Seniors of the parish are invited to join us for this new series of monthly in-person gatherings (approximately 90 minutes). Through shared conversation, prayer, and practical guidance on issues like housing, health, and finance, Mary, Mother of God Parish wants to offer reassurance and community for our older parishioners. We will meet in Jubilee Hall (basement of St. Ita’s church 5500 N. Broadway) on Thursday, March 26 after 8 AM Mass. FREE of charge. Continental breakfast provided. This is a great opportunity to further your preparations for Holy Week! St. John XXIII Parish is hosting the annual Lenten Reconciliation Service for our region of the Archdioceses, also known as our Deanery. We'll join our fellow Catholics at 7 PM at St. Nicholas Church (806 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, IL 60202). There will be priests available afterwards for private confession in several languages. 23 de marzo: Servicio comunitario de reconciliación de Cuaresma¡Esta es una excelente oportunidad para profundizar en sus preparativos para la Semana Santa!
La Parroquia San Juan XXIII será la anfitriona del servicio anual de Reconciliación de Cuaresma para nuestra región de la Arquidiócesis, también conocida como nuestro Decanato. Nos uniremos a nuestros hermanos católicos a las 7 PM en la Iglesia San Nicolás (806 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, IL 60202). Al finalizar, habrá sacerdotes disponibles para confesiones privadas en varios idiomas.  In leu of a Lenten Retreat, we will be screening “Triumph of the Heart” a feature film about the final days of St. Maximilian Kolbe, a Polish priest and Franciscan friar, who volunteered to die in place of another prisoner in Auschwitz Concentration Camp during World War II. The film will be shown in Jubilee Hall at St. Ita church (5500 N. Broadway) in English with Spanish subtitles. The event will include a bilingual pre-screening introduction on the life of St. Maximilian Kolbe and post-film small group discussions offered in both languages. Light refreshments will be offered. RSVP by contacting the parish office at 773-561-5343 or via email. There is a $10 suggested donation for tickets to help cover the license fee. You can make your donation ahead of time using GiveCentral (click the button below) or with cash or check in-person at the time of the screening. 21 de marzo: Proyección de cine cuaresmal (bilingüe) En lugar de un retiro de Cuaresma, proyectaremos “El Triunfo del Corazón”, una película sobre los últimos días de San Maximiliano Kolbe, sacerdote polaco y fraile franciscano que se ofreció como voluntario para morir en lugar de otro prisionero en el campo de concentración de Auschwitz durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. La película se proyectará en el Salón Jubileo de la iglesia de Santa Ita (5500 N. Broadway) en inglés con subtítulos en español. El evento incluirá una introducción bilingüe previa a la proyección sobre la vida de San Maximiliano Kolbe y charlas en grupos pequeños posteriores a la proyección, en ambos idiomas.
