Continue your preparations for Christmas by joining Mary, Mother of God Parish for the Filipino Advent tradition of Simbang Gabi! In the Philippines, Simbang Gabi is a celebration consisting of a nine-day series of early morning Masses to prepare for the birth of Christ on Christmas Day. Filipino immigrants have proudly introduced this beautiful tradition to the Church in the United States. We are hosting a Simbang Gabi Mass followed by a joyful reception on December 20 at 4:30 PM at St. Gregory the Great church (5545 N. Paulina). *Generously hosted by the Filipino community of our parish.*  La novena de Adviento tradicional, también conocida como novena de aguinaldos, es una celebración de la Iglesia en Colombia, Ecuador y Venezuela. Comienza el 13 de diciembre y finaliza el 21 de diciembre, conmemorando el nacimiento del Niño Jesús en el pesebre. Nuestra parroquia participará en una de las noches de la novena el lunes 15 de diciembre a las 7 PM en la iglesia de Santa Ita (5500 N. The traditional Advent novena or also called novena de aguinaldos is celebration of the Church in Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela. It begins on December 13 and ends on December 21 commemorating the birth of the baby Jesus in the manger. Our parish is participating in one night of the novena on Monday, December 15 at 7 PM at St. Ita church (5500 N. Broadway).  Un momento destacado del Adviento son las celebraciones de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en la parroquia, el 12 de diciembre. Comienzan a las 4 AM con Las Mañanitas y se extienden todo el día hasta la cena de celebración en el Salón del Jubileo a las 8 PM. Es un día maravilloso de oración, canto y devoción. Esperamos que nos acompañen en algunas (¡o todas!) de las festividades en la iglesia de Santa Ita (5500 N. Broadway). Our Lady of GuadalupeA highlight of the Advent season is the parish's Our Lady of Guadalupe celebrations on December 12. Starting at 4 AM with Las Mañanitas and running all day until the celebration dinner in Jubilee Hall, it is a wonderful day of prayer, song, and devotion. We hope you can join us for some (or all!) of the festivities at St. Ita church (5500 N. Broadway)   Devotions take place every Second Wednesday at 4 PM beginning with Adoration at St. Gregory the Great church (5545 N. Paulina).
Come join Fr. Alejandro as he leads us in a half day of reflections to begin Advent based on the Canticle of the Creatures. This song by St. Francis of Assisi, created 800 years ago, offers much fruit for the faithful today. Registration is required so we know how much food to order. Please contact the parish office at 773-561-5343 or via email. Also, for those who can afford it, a free will donation of $10 is suggested to defray the cost of the day but please come even if you are unable to give.
