Photos of Mass on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi at St. Ita church. May the little man from Assisi continue to inspire us with his example for a living a Christ-centered life and one dedicated to serving the “least among us,” for that is where we will find Christ. St. Francis, pray for us! *Photos courtesy of parish volunteer Luana Lienhart, OFS
Last Saturday, October 4 the pets of our parish were blessed by the Conventual Franciscan Friars in honor of St. Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of animals. Blessings took place at each of our three parish churches and attendees included dogs, cats, and even a rooster! 🐩 🐈⬛ 🐓 *Photos courtesy of parish volunteers Kitty Welter and Lauren Franzen
“Praised be You, my Lord, through our Sister Bodily Death, from whom no one living can escape.” - St. Francis of Assisi Each year on the evening of October 3, the Franciscan Order throughout the world pauses to celebrate the solemnity of St. Francis of Assisi’s death which is called the Transitus. (From Latin meaning passage or crossing.) This year, the Conventual Franciscan Friars and Secular Franciscans from our parish, along with other members of the Franciscan family, celebrated the Transitus at 7 PM at St. Ita church. It was a beautiful and solemn ceremony, *Photos courtesy of parish volunteer Damian Chlanda
