New Daily Mass Schedule

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
 
Our parish, Mary, Mother of God, has had the privilege and luxury of celebrating three Masses each day. When we formed this schedule, we had four resident priests as well as Fr. Bob Sprott, OFM available to preside. Today, we have only three resident priests and Fr. Bob Sprott is abroad on sabbatical. Sadly, the Mass schedule has become difficult to maintain given the other responsibilities of the friars to our parish and the Franciscan Order.  
 
A team of representatives from each of our worship sites and key staff members has been working with the priests to come up with a fair plan. We tried to consider the many needs of our community and our friars as they strive to celebrate Masses and other sacraments and liturgical commitments each day.
 
After careful deliberations and consultation with members of our Parish Pastoral Council, we offer the following new daily Mass schedule:
 
              Monday         STC - 8:30 am
                                       SI - 5:30 pm preceded by Exposition, evening prayer
 
             Tuesday           SI – 8:00 am
                                       STC - 8:30 am
 
             Wednesday     STC - 8:30 am
                                       SI - 5:30 pm preceded by Exposition, evening prayer
 
             Thursday        SI – 8:00 am
                                       STC - 8:30 am
                                       SI – 7:00 pm (Spanish)
 
             Friday             SI – 8:00 am
                                      STC - 8:30 am
                                     (SI – 7:00 pm, First Fridays)

            Saturday         SI - 8:00 am
 
The above changes will start with Advent, on Monday, December 2, 2024. At the moment, Mass schedules on Saturdays and Sundays will remain as they are, though these may have to be reexamined next year.
 
I understand that this might be inconvenient and frustrating. Change is rarely easy, and I do not make these changes lightly.
 
During this transition let us ask Mary, the mother of God and our mother, for her intercession. May her Son increase our desire to encounter Him more deeply in the Blessed Sacrament. As we journey together as one parish, thank you for your support and understanding.

​Estimados hermanos y hermanas en Cristo,
 
Nuestra parroquia, María, Madre de Dios, ha tenido el privilegio y el lujo de celebrar tres Misas cada día. Cuando formamos este horario, teníamos cuatro sacerdotes residentes, así como el P. Bob Sprott, OFM disponible para presidir. Hoy, sólo tenemos tres sacerdotes residentes y el P. Bob Sprott está en el extranjero en año sabático. Tristemente, el horario de Misas se ha vuelto difícil de mantener dadas las otras responsabilidades de los frailes con nuestra parroquia y la Orden Franciscana.
 
Un equipo de representantes de cada uno de nuestros lugares de culto y miembros clave del personal ha estado trabajando con los sacerdotes para llegar a un plan justo. Tratamos de considerar las muchas necesidades de nuestra comunidad y de nuestros frailes mientras se esfuerzan por celebrar Misas, otros sacramentos y compromisos litúrgicos cada día.
 
Después de cuidadosas deliberaciones y consultas con los miembros de nuestro Consejo Pastoral Parroquial, ofrecemos el siguiente nuevo horario de Misas diarias:
 
                Lunes             STC - 8:30 am
                                        SI - 5:30 pm precedida de Exposición, oración de la tarde
 
               Martes            SI - 8:00 am
                                        STC - 8:30 am
 
               Miércoles       STC - 8:30 am
                                        SI - 5:30 pm precedida de la Exposición, oración de la tarde
 
                Jueves            SI - 8:00 am
                                        STC - 8:30 am
                                        SI - 7:00 pm (español)
 
               Viernes          SI - 8:00 am
                                       STC - 8:30 am
                                      (SI - 7:00 pm, Primeros Viernes)
 
Los cambios anteriores comenzarán con el Adviento, el lunes 2 de diciembre 2024. Por el momento, los horarios de las Misas de los sábados y domingos se mantendrán como están, aunque es posible que haya que reexaminarlos el próximo año.
 
Comprendo que esto pueda resultar incómodo y frustrante. Los cambios no suelen ser fáciles, y no los hago a la ligera.
 
Durante esta transición, pidamos la intercesión de María, Madre de Dios y Madre nuestra. Que su Hijo aumente nuestro deseo de encontrarle más profundamente en el Santísimo Sacramento. Mientras caminamos juntos como una sola parroquia, gracias por su apoyo y comprensión.

Anh chị em thân mến trong Chúa Kitô, 

Giáo xứ Đức Maria, Mẹ Thiên Chúa chúng ta, đã có đặc ân và vinh dự được cử hành ba Thánh lễ mỗi ngày. Khi chúng tôi lập lịch trình này, chúng tôi đã có bốn linh mục thường trú cũng như Cha. Bob Sprott, OFM sẵn sàng chủ trì. Hiện nay, chỉ còn có ba linh mục thường trú và Fr. Bob Sprott đang nghỉ phép ở nước ngoài. Đây là điều hơi buồn vì lịch trình Thánh lễ đã trở nên khó duy trì vì các cha có những nhiệm vụ khác đối với giáo xứ và Dòng Phanxicô của chúng tôi. 

Một nhóm đại diện từ mỗi nhà thờ và các nhân viên chủ chốt của giáo xứ đã làm việc với các linh mục để đưa ra một kế hoạch công bằng. Chúng tôi đã cố gắng xem xét nhiều nhu cầu của các cộng đoàn và cuả anh em linh mục để có thể cử hành Thánh lễ, ban các bí tích và các nghi thức phụng vụ khác mỗi ngày. 

Sau khi cân nhắc kỹ lưỡng và tham khảo ý kiến với các thành viên Hội đồng Mục vụ Giáo xứ, chúng tôi đưa ra lịch Thánh lễ hàng ngày mới sau đây: 

Thứ Hai          STC - 8:30 sáng 
                         SI - 5:30 chiều trước giờ Chầu, cầu nguyện buổi tối 

Thứ Ba            SI – 8:00 sáng 
                         STC - 8:30 sáng 

Thứ Tư           STC- 8:30 sáng 
                         SI - 5:30 chiều trước giờ Chầu, cầu nguyện buổi tối 

Thứ Năm        SI – 8:00 sáng 
                         STC - 8:30 sáng 
                         SI – 7:00 tối (tiếng Tây Ban Nha) 

Thứ Sáu         SI – 8:00 sáng 
                        STC - 8:30 sáng 
                        (SI – 7:00 tối, các Thứ Sáu đầu tháng) 

Những thay đổi trên sẽ bắt đầu từ Mùa Vọng, Thứ Hai, ngày 2 tháng 12 năm 2024. Lịch trình thánh lễ Thứ Bảy và Chúa nhật sẽ vẫn như cũ, mặc dù những lịch trình này có thể phải được xem xét lại vào năm tới. 

Tôi hiểu rằng điều này có thể bất tiện và gây khó khăn vì sự thay đổi thường không dễ dàng và tôi cũng không thực hiện những thay đổi này một cách dễ dàng. 

Trong quá trình chuyển đổi này, chúng ta hãy cầu xin Đức Maria, mẹ Thiên Chúa và Mẹ chúng ta, chuyển cầu cho chúng ta. Xin Thánh Tử của Mẹ gia tăng ước muốn của chúng ta được gặp Ngài sâu xa hơn trong Bí Tích Thánh Thể. Tôi xin  cảm ơn sự hỗ trợ và thông cảm của các bạn khi  chúng ta cùng đồng hành với nhau trong một giáo xứ.
