Potluck dinner at 6 PM, discussion at 6:45 PM.
On February 5, we will celebrate the Virgen de Suyapa, patroness of Honduras, at the 12:30 PM Mass. The Virgen of Suyapa statue was discovered around 1747 by the farm worker Alejandro Colindres, who was sent out to work in the cornfields outside Tegucigalpa. He ended up lying on an object he couldn’t see and threw it aside. In the morning, Colindres discovered the statuette of the Virgen, which has been venerated in Honduras ever since. She was declared the patroness of Honduras by Pope Pius XI in 1925. A reception will follow the Mass on February 5. We hope you can join us! Potluck Community Meal @ 6:00 PM
