Scenes from our celebration of the feast of St. Thomas Becket at the newly renovated St. Thomas of Canterbury church in Uptown. We also blessed the new icon of St. Thomas, written by Joe Malham of Trinity Icons. Joe also oversaw the renovations and restoration of the church.
St. Thomas of Canterbury, pray for us! Our parish held not one, but two Simbang Gabi celebrations this weekend! This tradition – a series of Masses in anticipation of Christmas – began in the Philippines, and Filipino immigrants brought Simbang Gabi with them to the United States. Thank you to the St. Ita Filipino Community and the Filipinos of St. Gregory for all you do for the parish – all year and during this Christmas season!
Our parish members of the Militia of the Immaculata made their consecration to Mary on the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. The Militia of the Immaculata was founded by St. Maximilian Kolbe to win the world for Christ through Mary, Mother of God and of the Church, through total consecration to Mary. Congratulations to all those who made and renewed their consecration with us!
